On the menu: Fresh discussion about the here and now of contemporary dance. Join our guest speakers at 7PM on opening night performances. The talks are free; all are welcome!

The Secret of the Fox – 605 Collective/New Animal
Join Professor Dorota Glowacka for an informative talk about animal communications & recent movements in animal studies that move away from anthropocentrism. Humorous and provocative, Professor Glowacka connects a variety of dots to shine light on the New Animal!
Dorota Glowacka is Professor of Humanities at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Canada, where she teaches critical theory and Holocaust studies in the Contemporary Studies Programme. She is the author of Disappearing Traces: Holocaust Testimonials, Ethics, and Aesthetics (University of Washington Press, 2012), and co-editor of Between Ethics and Aesthetics: Crossing the Boundaries (SUNY Press, 2002) and Imaginary Neighbors: Mediating Polish-Jewish Relations after the Holocaust (Nebraska UP, 2007). She guest-edited a volume of e-journal Culture Machine entitled “Community” (2006) and has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, reviews and encyclopedia entries in the area of continental philosophy, Holocaust studies, and Polish-Jewish relations after the Holocaust. She loves her two cats.
